Accessing Brand object inside Shop resource in Shopify GraphQL API
04:40 25 Mar 2025

I'm trying to access the shop.brand.logo field in the Shop resource, I'm using API version 2025-01.

https://shopify.dev/docs/api/storefront/2025-01/objects/Brand

query ShopData {
  shop {
    brand {
      logo {
        image {
          url
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

I get this error:

{
    "errors": [
        {
            "message": "Field 'brand' doesn't exist on type 'Shop'",
            "locations": [
                {
                    "line": 9,
                    "column": 9
                }
            ],
            "path": [
                "query ShopData",
                "shop",
                "brand"
            ],
            "extensions": {
                "code": "undefinedField",
                "typeName": "Shop",
                "fieldName": "brand"
            }
        }
    ]
}{
    "errors": [
        {
            "message": "Field 'brand' doesn't exist on type 'Shop'",
            "locations": [
                {
                    "line": 9,
                    "column": 9
                }
            ],
            "path": [
                "query ShopData",
                "shop",
                "brand"
            ],
            "extensions": {
                "code": "undefinedField",
                "typeName": "Shop",
                "fieldName": "brand"
            }
        }
    ]
}

Which is weird because it's explicitly mentioned in their API docs. Does anyone know any workaround to get the brand logo through the GraphQL API? I would discard any REST API solution since it's sunsetting soon.

graphql shopify shopify-api
