Hi! I know this is a silly question (also my first!) but I'd like to know; Do I really need GitHub Desktop software?

I started learning to use GitHub. They have a standalone app for managing repositories. Later I found out that my VS Code can do the same but much quicker!

What are the use cases for the GitHub Desktop app? What exclusive features does it provide? It definitely exists for a good reason, otherwise looks redundant to me. Please, I admit Its very dumb. Everyone starts somewhere!
