we upgraded from MediaWiki 1.39 to 1.43 and have a strange behavior with the Visual Editor (VE).
Scenario: I edit a page using the VE. Directly after sucessfull editing the page I notice that there is a typo. So I click the "Edit" button again. VE starts to load and shows the progress but nothing more happens.
I've tested the behavior in different environments. In most of our environments it does not work, but on our - let's say "Fat Clients" everything works fine. So there could be a problem with GPOs in Windows or with some network segments. It still is strange that the VE worked fine in MW 1.39.
I've used the Edge developer tools to investigate the issue. The console log seems to be identical. When investigating the Network traffice where is a daifference: On the Fat Clients: When clicking on "Edit" the page again there is a API request:
https://ourwiki.example.com/api.php?action=visualeditor&format=json&paction=parse&page=TestPage22&uselang=de&editintro=&preload=&preloadparams=&formatversion=2
On the environments where it's not working this API call is missing.
We might a have a related issue when creating a new page: When saving the created page the page it does not show the saved content. We need to reload the whole page. Then the content is shown.
Has anyone a glue what goes wrong or point me in a direction how to find the issue?
Thanks in advance for your help. :-) Peter
