I am currently a third-year university student and still have more than one year before graduation, so I should remain eligible for the Azure for Students program.
Recently, I received a notification email stating that my Azure for Students subscription was about to expire due to the free credit being fully used. I followed the provided link and attempted to renew/reactivate the subscription.
However, I suspect that because my original 12-month subscription period had not yet fully elapsed, the renewal process did not properly complete. As a result, my Azure for Students subscription remained in a disabled state.
At the time, I mistakenly assumed this was a bug. While trying to troubleshoot, I accidentally deleted the subscription.
After that:
I attempted all available options under Azure Support & Troubleshooting
I tried both “Reactivate subscription” and “Restore subscription”
Every attempt leads to an error page (see screenshot), indicating an unexpected error and asking me to retry
Now I am stuck in a state where:
I am still eligible for Azure for Students (not graduated, valid student status)
My previous subscription is deleted
I cannot reactivate or create a new Azure for Students subscription
The portal consistently returns an error when attempting recovery
Questions:
Is there any way to restore a deleted Azure for Students subscription, or is it permanently unrecoverable?
If restoration is not possible, how can I re-enroll in Azure for Students given that I am still eligible?
Could this issue be related to the original subscription not reaching its full 12-month period, and if so, how can it be resolved?
Is there any way to contact Azure support directly for this type of issue (since I currently cannot access standard support options without an active subscription)?
Any guidance from people who have encountered similar issues, or from Azure staff/community moderators, would be greatly appreciated.
