I am a PM at a fintech startup and as we reach our MVP we are looking for PLG and notifications is a major lever that we want to use. A decision we have to take right now is should we go about building the infra for notifications in house to have more control (security pov as well) and scale as we grow or we can rely on 3rd party apps that provides APIs and infrastructure on a subscription basis?

Would love to know views from both side if someone have faced this situation earlier
