I came across a specification called Domain Transport Language (DTL) being proposed as a new data transport format.

At a high level it seems to combine schema definition, security metadata, and some kind of chained integrity mechanism.

I’m trying to understand:

1. What exactly is DTL?

2. How does it differ from existing formats like JSON (general data), SAML (identity), and JWT (tokens)?

3. Does DTL replace these, or is it meant to work alongside them?

If anyone has a clear technical explanation of the differences, and when DTL might be preferable over existing standards, that would be helpful.
